LINCOLN – The Logan County Coroner has confirmed that all three occupants on board the plane that crashed near Lincoln are dead.
Our news partner Heart of Illinois ABC reports the identification of the passengers are being withheld until family is notified, officials with the ISP said.
The southbound lanes of I-55 are still closed in the area with traffic being diverted by the Illinois Department of Transportation.
The plane crash happened around 8:49 a.m. Tuesday on I-55 near Lincoln. ISP said the small plane became fully engulfed upon impact in the middle of the interstate.
