PONTIAC – Halloween is right around the corner and with it comes safety tips for children and adults alike.
Pontiac Police Chief Jim Woolford said, especially while driving, adults need to pay extra attention to their surroundings.
“If you’re in an area where there’s a lot of porch lights on, you’re going to have kids going from house to house, and often they lose track of the surroundings and will just sprint across the road to catch up with friends, to hit another house, that sort of thing,” Woolford said. “Car traffic is something to be very wary of. We don’t have a history of traffic crashes on Halloween and we don’t want to start one.”
Police are issuing the annual reminders for children to stay with groups, wear reflective costumes and check candy before eating it.
