BLOOMINGTON – A longtime auto dealership owner in Bloomington-Normal is retiring.
Dan O’Brien told WJBC’s Dan Swaney he’s stepping aside and handing ownership of his dealerships over to his brother, Joe O’Brien, and General Manager of O’Brien Mitsubishi, Ryan Gremore.
“It’s an opportunity for them now to continue what they’ve done for all of us, and hopefully what they believe we’ve done for them, and have four different locations represented by one group of owners,” Dan O’Brien said.
The three Extreme Motors stores are all owned by Dan O’Brien. O’Brien Mitsubishi is co-owned by Joe O’Brien and Gremore.
Gremore said he’s grateful for the opportunity.
“We thought that this would be a great opportunity for myself and for Joe to offer a variety of brands to our existing customer base,” said Gremore. “And take care of Extreme’s customer base and take care of Dan’s customers.”
Both Dan O’Brien and Gremore hope to make a “seamless” ownership transition.
