BLOOMINGTON – The McLean County Museum of History has extended the nomination deadline for the 2017 class of local History Makers to be honored during the museum’s annual gala in June of 2017.
Nominations will be accepted through Nov. 1.
The annual History Makers Gala celebrates senior citizens whose lives, work and community contributions have made McLean County a better place to live. Presented in conjunction with the museum’s annual meeting, the gala dinner will feature live dramatizations to commemorate the honorees and their lives of service.
Anyone can nominate a potential History Maker by submitting a completed nomination form which is available at the museum and mchistory.org.
Nominees must be at least 70 years of age, have spent significant years in McLean County and be able to share their stories with the community. Nominees do not have to be wealthy, prominent or easily recognized. They do need to have a significant story to tell about their community impact and legacy.
