BLOOMINGTON – Kirk Zimmerman’s attorney doesn’t want the public to see court documents related to the defense team’s attempt to get certain evidence barred from the Bloomington man’s murder trial.
St. Louis attorney John Rogers has filed motions to have certain documents sealed and to have the court hearing regarding certain evidence be closed to the media and the public. Rogers claims in the motion that certain evidence being revealed, before it’s even admissible at trial, could taint the jury pool.
Zimmerman, 57, is awaiting trial on charges that he killed ex-wife Pamela Zimmerman in 2014.
McLean County Judge Scott Drazewski will consider the motions during a hearing on Nov. 21.
