BLOOMINGTON – A teenager from Normal faces three years in prison after he admitted to helping conceal the death of another teen who died of a heroin overdose.
Braxton Smith, 18, pleaded guilty to a charge of conspiracy to conceal a death. He was also sentenced to four years in prison on an unrelated drug charge. Smith will serve the sentences concurrently.
Angel Brunson of Normal was found dead at an apartment in the 1400 block of East College Avenue in Normal in April.
Cheonte Hinkle, 21, of East Peoria also faces concealment charges in the case. He remains jailed while awaiting trial.
