NORMAL – Packed buses led to angry parents as school got underway in Unit five Wednesday.
First student is the company hired to pick up and drop off students in the district. First Student Communications Director Marlaina Wolfe is apologizing.
“From First Student I would like to extend an apology to the district, to the families, and the parents,” said Wolfe. “We understand that it has been inconvenient and it’s not been easy for everyone. We just wanna try to gain the trust back.”
There were also reports about late buses and students sitting on the bus floor. Wolfe says she has not heard of any situation where a student was sitting on the floor.
She says First Student is working with the district to alleviate future problems.
