BLOOMINGTON – Central Illinois Regional Airport is preparing for a full scale emergency drill on Saturday.
The airport will be conducting a simulated aircraft incident on its grounds. Spokeswoman Fran Strebing said they’re required to do this type of drill every three years.
“It’s also a great and invaluable tool for us to learn the best way to respond and to work with our cooperating agencies,” said Strebing. “It’s very important that we all know how to work together.”
The drill will take place between 9 a.m. and noon.
“We do have communication in place so that folks will, hopefully, not be alarmed,” Strebing said.
Strebing added the airport will function as normal during the drill. Most of the activities will be away from the terminal building.
