BLOOMINGTON – Heavy rain caused flash flooding during thunderstorms which rolled through Central Illinois on Sunday night.
Many low-lying roads became impassable. McLean County Sheriff’s Police report several vehicles became stranded while trying to drive through high water.
The National Weather Service reported 2.23 inches of rain fell in McLean County as of 11:15 p.m. The storm caused mostly minor damage in the form of downed tree branches. There was a report of minor damage to a house near Downs where a tree was uprooted and fell on the house.
