NORMAL – Relay for Life of McLean County gets underway Friday at Normal Community High School.
Co-Chair Catina Struble said there is only one requirement to attend.
“You don’t have to be a caregiver or a survivor to come out to Relay. You just have to hate cancer,” she said.
The 18 hour event features luminaries lighted in honor of those who have died from cancer or are fighting cancer. Struble said this year’s goal is to raise $370,000.
“We’re a little over $200,000 right now,” said Struble. “You have teams that raise $50, you have teams that raise $25,000, but every dollar helps.”
