BLOOMINGTON – Hundreds of Bloomington-Normal residents are going to work when a new grocery store opens March 10th.
Hy-Vee Manager Andrew Cocharan says the store went through 35-hundred applications during open interviews.
"We hired just over 600," says Cocharan. "We still have a stack of people that as soon as there is an opportunity we're gonna hire them, but we had to cut it off otherwise we would not have hours to give."
Hy-vee is located on Clearwater and Veterans. They will be the only grocery story in the area to offer a full service restaurant inside.
