Patricia Harms
Patricia Jane Harms, 84, of Fairbury, passed away at 1:20 a.m., Jan. 29 at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington.
Her funeral will be Saturday at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Forrest with Pastor Corinne Blissard officiating. Inurnment will take place at Forrest Township Cemetery at a later date.
Visitation will be from 1:00 – 4:45 p.m. at the church in Forrest on Saturday. A service will follow at 5 p.m. In Lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be directed to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Forrest or SELCAS. Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury is in charge of arrangements.
Patty was born Oct. 24, 1930 in Forrest, the daughter of Paul and Marjorie (Alstadt) Hatfield. She married Donald “Duke” Harms, Sr, on May 8, 1949 in Forrest. He survives in Fairbury.
Also surviving are her children, Deborah (Jon) Gilliland of Fond du Lac, WI; Donald (Patti) Harms, Jr of Erie, Colo.; Lucinda (Robert) Gregait, Bonnie (Steven) Weger both of Geneva, Ill.; Donna (Tim) Cross of Germantown Hills, Ill.; Carol (David) Waibel of Normal; Patrick J. (Julie) Harms of Forrest; and Bethel Joy Harms of Carpentersville, Ill.; 21 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters.
Patty was a graduate of Forrest Township High School and a graduate of Browns Business College in Peoria. Patty was a member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church of Forrest, where she taught Sunday School for many years and was involved in WELCA. She was a Brownie Troop leader and taught the Bethel Bible series.
Her greatest loves where her faith, her husband and her family. Please remember her laughter and her deep love for each of you.
