PONTIAC – A man from Pontiac is dead after a car hit a pedestrian Thursday.
The Livingston County Coroner says 48-year-old Edward Eilts was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident on Old Route 66 just north of Route 23 in Pontiac.
The coroner's office says Eilts was walking in the south-bound turn lane when he was struck by the car around 6:15 a.m.
An autopsy is planned and police are still investigating.
