NORMAL – The Normal Town Council voted Monday night to amend an intergovernmental agreement with the Illinois Department of Transportation, which originally included a trio of projects.
The plan was to work with IDOT on building a pedestrian crossing at Uptown Station, reconstruction of the south platform, and renovation of the old Amtrak Station. However, the pedestrian crossing is being put off. The agreement was changed to reflect that.
The town isn’t yet sure when the pedestrian crossing will happen.
