BLOOMINGTON – Former McLean County Board Chairman Matt Sorensen has been cleared of any illegal conduct in his role on the board.
That’s according to an independent review ordered by McLean County States Attorney Jason Chambers.
Sorensen is under federal indictment for allegedly submitting false invoices and expense reports to companies for consulting work that was never actually done.
Chambers says the federal indictment has nothing to do with county business, but felt a review should be done as a precaution.
