BLOOMINGTON, Ill- Radio Bloomington hosted its annual Radiothon to benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis and its regional sites, including Children’s Hospital of Illinois in Peoria.
WJBC, WBNQ, and B104 teamed up to raise $90,117 for the cause, which exceeds 2015’s $86,346 mark. While the picture above was being captured, $505 of additional donations were collected.
This year’s Radiothon began Thursday morning, and concluded Friday evening.
The event gained attention from a celebrity as country sensation Luke Bryan sent B104’s Faith Rinker a message pledging to match $500 for every Partner in Hope by gained by 5 p.m. Friday. From this, the Radiothon collected 54 additional Partners in Hope.
$90,117 is the new record for money raised during the Radio Bloomington St. Jude Radiothon.
