EUREKA – A 25-year-old Bloomington woman avoided a murder trial on Tuesday after agreeing to a plea deal in Woodford County Court.
Vishawn Mills was charged with first degree murder, mutilating a human body, and concealing a homicide – all charges relating to the murder of Oakley Mitchell, 74, of Secor in August 2013.
However, Mills pleaded guilty to mutilation and concealment. As part of the plea deal the murder charges were dropped.
Mills' boyfriend, Rayshawn Johnson, 24, is serving 50 years in prison after pleading guilty to the murder.
Mills faces 20 years in prison when she's sentenced on March 3rd.
