NORMAL – Unit 5 has approved its portion of the property tax levy.
The district increased its levy by about 4 percent, but it likely won’t result in homeowners paying more. The reason is the anticipated increase in the overall equalized assessed valuation for the area.
The new levy means tax payers will pay about $5 per $100 of their home’s assessed valuation.
