NORMAL – Adam Studzinski kicks off sports coverage today at 10 a.m. with a live Game Day Show from Illinois State’s Hancock Stadium on WJBC 1230 AM.
That will be followed by Illinois State’s final regular-season home game against South Dakota in Missouri Valley Conference football action. Pregame coverage is at 11 a.m. with the kickoff at 1 p.m.
ISU, ranked No. 6 nationally, looks to earn at least a share of its second straight Valley championship and extend its home winning streak to a FCS best 18 games.
The Redbirds are 8-2 overall and 6-1 in the league, while South Dakota is 5-5 overall and 3-4 in the conference.
Also on WJBC 1230 AM and 93.7 FM, Illinois State’s men’s basketball team tries to rebound from Thursday loss when it welcomes Houston Baptist to Redbird Arena in the second round of the Cancun Classic. Both teams have 1-2 records. The pregame show starts at 5 p.m. with the tip-off at 6 p.m.
Meanwhile on your computer or smartphone at wjbc.com, Illinois Wesleyan’s men’s basketball team takes on Wilmington in a non-conference game at the Shirk Center at 7 p.m. The Titans are 1-1.
Also, semifinal round high school football playoff games involving Tri-Valley and LeRoy can be heard on wjbc.com starting at 1:45 p.m. Tri-Valley (12-0) plays host to Annawan-Kewanee Wethersfield (11-1) in Class 2A , LeRoy (10-2) plays at Arcola (12-0) in 1A action.
Meanwhile, the Bloomington Thunder takes the ice in Chicago in hockey action at 7 p.m.
