Tremont man dies in farm explosion

TREMONT – The Tazewell County coroner’s office is investigating the death of a Tremont man Thursday morning.

According to the Peoria Journal Star, the man died when a tire he was inflating in a farm field in rural Tremont exploded. Coroner James Baldi identified the man as 46-year-old Russell Dubois. He was pronounced dead at the scene before 11 a.m.

Baldi said an autopsy will be conducted on Friday. The incident is being investigated by the Tazewell County Sheriff’s Office and the coroner’s office.
