EL PASO – One of Bloomington-Normal's most decorated prep sports stars in recent years has died.
Jake Miller, a four-time state champion swimmer at University High in Normal, was pronounced dead at the family's home in El Paso at 3:15 p.m. Friday.
Woodford County Coroner Tim Ruestman tells WJBC an autopsy was conducted Saturday morning and a cause of death won't be released, but said there was nothing suspicious about his death.
Miller was 18. He had committed to attend Louisville in the fall and was a member of the Redbird Swim Club.
He helped lead the Pioneers to a state title in boys swimming last year by taking state titles in the 200-yard Individual Medley and 500-yard Freestyle and was on the 200-yard and 400-yard Freestyle Relay teams which came in first.
The coroner's office doesn't plan to release any more information about the case.
