Selma Bachtold, 100, of Strawn, passed away at 7:26 a.m., on May 19, at Woodridge Supportive Living in Pontiac.
Funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Forrest. Pastor Corrine Blissard will be officiating.
Burial will be in South Graceland Cemetery in Fairbury.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to services on Friday at the church.
Duffy-Pils Memorial Home is in charge of arrangements.

Selma was born Oct. 25, 1914 in Weston the daughter of Heika and Hannah Winterland Harms. She married Walter Bachtold on March 3, 1941 in St. Louis. He passed away in June 3, 1981.
Surviving are her son, Terry (Judy) Bachtold of Strawn; daughter-in-law, Dorothy Bachotld of Gilbertville, Mass.; sister-in-law, Phyllis Harms of Fairbury; five grandchildren, Holly (Randy) Holland, Kristofer (Amy) Bachtold, Emily (Houston) Jones, Evan (Rachel) Bachtold, and Matthew (Meg) Bachtold; 12 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one son, Richard, three brothers and two sisters.
Selma was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Forrest.
She farmed with her husband in the Strawn area. After retiring Selma lived in Fairbury for 18 years and then last moved to Woodridge Supportive Living.

Vachel “Steve” Busick, 78, of Huachuca City, Ariz. and formerly of Bloomington and Carlock, died at 6:16 p.m. May 13 at his home.
His funeral will be noon on Thursday at Carmody-Flynn Funeral Home, Bloomington, with his niece, Rev. Janet Busick Jones officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bloomington. Visitation will be one hour prior to services (11a.m.-12noon) at the funeral home.

He was born Oct. 15, 1936 in Normal, a son of Merle and Annie Lawhun Busick. He married JoAnne Westerdahl on Feb. 1, 1958, she preceded him in death. He later married Violetta Martinez in October of 1986.
Surviving are six children, Kathy (Bob) Bicknell of Bloomington, Linda (Kraig) Kelly of Kennesaw, GA, Elizabeth “Libby” (Don) Andersen of Weirsdale, FL, Steven Busick of Huachuca City, Ariz., Kasey Busick and Nikolas Busick, both of Tucson, Ariz.. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.
After his retirement as an electrician with the I.B.E.W. 197, he moved to Arizona to pursue his passion of prospecting. He also enjoyed the outdoors, traveling with family and watching movies.
He loved the Lord and would help anyone in need.
Family was an important part of his life and would tell anyone who would listen all about them.
