BLOOMINGTON – State Sen. Bill Brady has started reviewing possible projects in which a $750,000 state grant may be used.
A committee led by former Bloomington Mayor Jesse Smart has been reviewing options for use of the money ever since the Bloomington city council turned down the money to buy land near McGraw Park. The land would have been leased to Bloomington Central Catholic High School for a high school football practice field.
Some of the projects being considered for use in the 44th Senate district include a bus transfer center for Connect Transit, a new crisis center for Chestnut Health Systems and upgrades to several parks in the City of Bloomington.
The advisory committee is reviewing proposals and will make a recommendation to Brady.
