Police boost patrols for Super Bowl Sunday

SPRINGFIELD – Police will be out in full force on Super Bowl Sunday.

They'll be cracking down on people who are speeding, texting, and driving drunk.

Over the past five years, nine people have been killed on Illinois roads as a result of drunk drivers on gameday.

State officials say anyone who plans to drink alcohol should alternate it with plenty of water and plenty of food.
