BLOOMINGTON – Another day of frigid temperatures has forced another day of school closings in Illinois.
Parents of Unit 5, and Olympia students and many others will have to find alternatives for their children Thursday after frigid forecasts forced them to again order schools shut.
The National Weather Service has a Wind Chill Warning in effect until noon in McLean County and much of Central Illinois as wind chillls will be in the neighborhood of 30 below zero.
Low temperatures fell to 10 below zero early Thursday. Temperatures in central and southern Illinois are forecast to be in the upper teens as the cold blankets much of the nation.
Several school districts, including Bloomington-based District 87, are keeping their schools open.
