BLOOMINGTON – Illinois State Police issued a public safety announcement Thursday morning alerting the public of an escaped individual who is possibly located in Woodford County. Police say he is considered a danger to himself and others.
Javier Aguirre, a 47-year-old man from Hoopestown, escaped from a hospital transport van around 11:20 Wednesday night.
According to a release from state police, Aguirre escaped on Interstate 39 near mile marker 28, just north of Minonk. ISP conducted a search of the area using Air Operations and K9 units, but Aguirre was not found.
Illinois State Police spokesperson Haylie Polistina says Aguirre was not in prison. A Woodford County court document obtained by Heart of Illinois ABC shows Aguirre was charged today with damage to property at HRT Professionnals LLC, allegedly breaking a window of a company car and was hurt – bringing about his transportation to a hospital.
Police also say he is a danger to himself and others and should not be approached under any circumstances. If you see him, call 911.
