BLOOMINGTON – The McLean County Coroners Office has announced Kalamazoo, Michigan resident, Rickey M. Washington Jr., 43, dead in the crash on Interstate 55 near milepost 154 in McLean County Tuesday evening.
According to a news release, the victim’s vehicle crashed with a semi-truck trailer around 10:00 p.m. Washington Jr. was pronounced dead at the scene at 10:46 p.m.
Preliminary autopsy results indicate that Mr. Washington died from cervical spinal injuries.
Illinois State Police District 6 troopers closed down I-55 at 10:00 p.m. for an investigation, and reopened the Interstate around 6:00 a.m. on Wednesday.
