BLOOMINGTON – The Bloomington Communications Center has earned top honors of excellence for its professionalism and respect during recent interactions with the community.
The dispatch center earned the Emergency Police Dispatch (EPD) Accredited Center of Excellence (ACE) award, the first in Illinois to achieve the award.
“Dispatchers stood out to reviewers for expert handling of calls and the professionalism and respect displayed during interactions with the community,” Bloomington Communications and External Affairs Manager Katherine Murphy said. “The Bloomington Communications Center is also being asked to serve as a mentor for other agencies hoping to become accredited.”
Along with the City of Bloomington’s Emergency Fire Dispatch (EFD) ACE, they are only the third combination in the world.
