SPRINGFIELD – Gov. JB Pritzker Wednesday added himself to the more than five million Illinoisans vaccinated against COVID-19. He said about two-thirds of Illinoisans age 65 and up – and almost a third of Illinoisans sixteen and up – have been jabbed.
“I’m deeply, deeply grateful,” he said before getting the one-shot Johnson and Johnson vaccine.
Illinois Emergency Management Agency director Gen. Alicia Tate-Nadeau said some 500 Illinois National Guard personnel are on the job at fifteen mobile vaccination sites around the state. “They have one goal in common: to help local health departments reach underserved communities and increase accessibility,” she said.
The number to call to try to get a vaccination appointment is 1-833-621-1284.
