BLOOMINGTON – Five additional McLean County residents have died from coronavirus complications as the health department announced 96 new cases since last Friday.
There have been 165 COVID-related deaths in the county.
14 McLean County residents are in the hospital due to COVID and 228 are in home isolation. McLean County hospitals are reporting 77% of ICU beds in use, 79% of total beds in use and thirteen patients hospitalized with COVID-19.
The county’s rolling positivity rate dropped to 1.4%, the first time it has been below 2% since mid-August.
174 additional people were released from isolation, now 13,863 have recovered.
This is MCHD’s first COVID-19 update this week because the office was closed for President’s Day and Tuesday due to winter weather.
