BLOOMINGTON – A McLean County man in his 70s has died from COVID-19 complications.
McLean County Health Department Administrator Jessica McKnight said the man was not associated with a long-term care facility. There have now been 42 COVID-related deaths in the county.
MCHD reported 421 new confirmed and probable cases Thursday, bringing the total to 6,096. There are eight people currently hospitalized and 1,308 are in home isolation.
“We continue to see an increase in new cases and our positivity rate,” said McKnight. “The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) and McLean County Health Department are recommending that the public stay home as much as possible, leaving only for necessary and essential activities, such as work that must be performed outside the home, COVID-19 testing, visiting the pharmacy, and buying groceries.”
For the next 3 weeks, IDPH recommends staying home as much as possible and only going out when needed – groceries, pharmacy, if you can't work from home, and other essential errands.
