BLOOMINGTON – Bloomington Police have arrested a man after finding a loaded semi-automatic handgun.
On Thursday, BPD Street Crimes Unit was working in the 900 block of W. Market St., when officers spotted a subject wanted on an outstanding parole warrant.
Officers said Andrew Morris, 29, of Bloomington, took off on foot after seeing the officers running through the 500 block of Howard St. After a brief chase, officers arrested Morris.
Nearby, officers said they located a .40 caliber semi-automatic handgun, discarded by Morris during the foot pursuit.
Morris was charged with armed habitual criminal, unlawful use of weapon and resisting a police officer. Morris was transported to the McLean County Jail.
Morris is being held on a $20,035 cash bond.
