BLOOMINGTON – Bloomington Police say a man was wounded early Tuesday morning in a shooting on the city’s west side.
The shooting happened about 1:10 Tuesday morning at 607 W. Jefferson St. Police say the man was taken to a local hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
There have been no arrests, and police have not released other details.
This is the second report of shots fired in the neighborhood since Sunday evening, but police say they’re not aware of any connection.
Officers say they were called about six o’clock Sunday night to the 800 block of West Washington where a witness reported hearing gunshots and seeing a black teenager with a handgun running from the area. Another witness, who also heard gunfire, reported seeing the teen speeding off in a burgundy sedan.
Police say they found no evidence of a shooting in the area, and no injuries were reported. The teen is described as being 15 to 16 years old, with a mustache and long-braided hair.
Anyone with information is asked to call Bloomington Police or McLean County Crime Stoppers.
