BLOOMINGTON – The Old House Society is recognizing homeowners committed to preserving historic homes at this year’s Historic Preservation Awards.
Secretary of the OHS, Beth Snow, says the society, the City of Bloomington and the Town of Normal are joining forces to show their commitment to the twin cities.
“I think this shows the commitment of all three organizations coming together to say we very much want to recognize these people and the time and effort that they put into what they have done here as either preservationist, or the restoration work that they have done,” said Snow.
The awards ceremony is open to the public and will take place at the McLean County Museum of History on May 15 at 5:30 p.m.
The winning properties include 17 Clinton Place, 607 North Main Street, and 706 North School Street.
The city will recognize Brad Williams and Fred Wollrab as preservationist of the year, and give the Landscape Restoration Award to Diana Krieg and Dawn Peters (402 East Grove Street).
The restoration Award will go to Bloomington Lodge No. 43 and 302 East Jefferson Street.
OHS will recognize Linda Henry (307 North Broadway in Hudson) and Jason and Jessica Chambers (1004 Broadway Avenue in Normal) for restoring and preserving their homes.
