CLINTON – DeWitt County prosecutors plan to try a Farmer City teen as an adult for allegedly shooting another teen last week.
Michael Cummins, 17, faces a felony charge of battery with a firearm. That’s a Class X felony which carries a prison sentence of six to 30 years if convicted.
Cummins allegedly shot a 17-year-old boy in the stomach last week. The victim was hospitalized, but their condition is not known. His injuries were not considered life threatening. Cummins is jailed on a $50,000 bond.
