NORMAL – Gearing up for the 2018 Frontier League season, the Normal CornBelters have hired their third manager.
Billy Horn has been selected to manage the CornBelters. Horn previously served as the pitching coach for the Long Island Ducks of the Atlantic League during the 2017 season. In 2015 and 1026 he was the pitching coach for the Ottowa Champions of the Canadian American League, where he worked under Hal Lanier, the Cornbelter’s first-ever manager.
Horn explained his wants to further the careers of his players and maintain a fierce baseball team.
“My goals are simple – to promote as many players to MLB organizations as possible and to put a competitive team on the field in search of a Frontier League Championship,” said Horn.
This will be Horn’s first appointment to a manager position. He replaces Brooks Carey, who took a manager position with the New Jersey Jackals.
