BLOOMINGTON – Prosecutors have dropped sexual assault charges stemming from an incident during Illinois State’s orientation last summer as the alleged victim said she didn’t want to pursue the case.
Shawn Childs Jr., 19, of Chicago, had been accused of raping a woman in her room at Hewett Hall after she was drugged.
His father, Shawn Childs Sr., 41, was sentenced in November to six months in jail after he pleaded guilty to drug possession charges in connection with the incident.
Police said the two men were on campus last July for ISU’s Preview Week.
