BLOOMINGTON – Mid Central Community Action has begun preparing for the annual Seeds of Change fundraiser.
MCCA Executive Director Deborah White explained it raises money to fund their permanent supportive housing and countering domestic violence programs.
“In our community, just when you look at housing alone, Mid Central Community Action, we have an emergency domestic violence center. We have transitional houses. We have permanent supportive housing for people who were homeless,” she said.
White added it’s important to continue discussing domestic violence, despite the fact domestic violence awareness month has ended.
“If you’re a business owner and you would like to donate something to the event we would love to have that,” said White. “We would love for you to be a champion and invite your friends and neighbors to the event.”
Seeds of Change will be May 4, 2017. Information on donating to any of MCCA’s programs is at www.mccainc.org.
