BLOOMINGTON – Bloomington aldermen will vote Monday on approving a $169,000 study evaluating the city’s office and operational space needs.
Assistant City Manager Steve Rasmussen explained this study will include three parts, one of which is how they can best use their available space.
“Two, it will address the issue of how we can provide better service by consolidating our maintenance facilities at a newer, modern facility,” said Rasmussen. “And then three, we ask them to look at what can we do in the short term, inexpensively, that gets us immediate relief.”
Rasmussen added the city is out of room in City Hall, but still has available space at the Government Center.
“What can we move from here over there?” he said.
BKV out of Chicago would conduct the study for Bloomington. Rasmussen said the city does have engineers capable of doing such a study, however those workers are already tied up in city business.
