SPRINGFIELD – Gov. Bruce Rauner continues to pledge to stay on the sidelines as the race for president moves toward its final weeks. He is shooting down speculation that he’s ready to throw his support to Republican nominee Donald Trump…….
“No changes, no news,” Rauner said. “I am not endorsing in the presidential race. I am not commenting on the presidential race. I am staying out of it and I’m focused 100 percent on Illinois.”
Rauner meanwhile continues to offer his enthusiastic support to U.S. Sen. Mark Kirk in his race for re-election against Democratic congresswoman Tammy Duckworth.
