BLOOMINGTON, Ill. (WMBD) — The Bloomington Police Department has identified the person arrested in connection with a shooting near West Market Street and Howard Street.
Terrell Naquin, 18, was arrested for multiple charges, including attempted murder, aggravated battery and destroying evidence, said Bryce Janssen, a Bloomington police Spokesperson.
Janssen said officers responded to the scene at a local business at 3:15 p.m. When officers arrived, they gathered evidence that an altercation had occurred in the business between two individuals, which led to one allegedly shooting the other.
The victim was transported to a local hospital, where he is in stable condition and expected to survive, Janssen said.
Naquin was identified as a suspect and was taken into custody at 6:24 p.m. near North Western Avenue and West Forrest Street on Friday. He was then transported to the McLean County Jail.
A judge denied his pretrial release on Monday, so he remains at the McLean County Jail at this time.
He is expected to return to court on July 24.
