BLOOMINGTON, Ill. (WMBD) — The McLean County Chamber of Commerce hosted the first-ever “Women in Business” conference at the Park Regency Hotel in Bloomington.
The event’s theme was navigating change, hoping to help the over 100 women in attendance find ways to handle change and anxiety within the business world.
“It’s just a full day of women supporting each other and learning from each other and watching McLean County’s women and business grow,” said Madison Noble, manager of marketing and communications for the chamber.
The event also included a keynote speaker, Q&A panel and networking opportunities. The chamber hopes that the event will give the businesswomen a support system.
“We hope that they leave with just practical skills training that they can bring back into the workforce. But then also, you know, a new connection of people who are going through the same things. You’re not going through these things alone. There are people in our community who are here and want to support you,” said Noble.
While this is the event’s first year, the chamber hopes to continue hosting this event in the future and reach more women in business.
