BLOOMINGTON, Ill. (WMBD) — The city of Bloomington received yet another Official Illinois Main Street Accreditation for its downtown Bloomington work.
The accreditation recognizes municipalities that are committed to strengthening their downtown areas. Bloomington was recognized because of its commitment to economic development, historic preservation, community engagement and long-term revitalization efforts.
Director of community impact and enhancement for the city, Cordaryl Patrick, attributed the accreditation to the staff of Bloomington in a press release.
“Downtown Bloomington continues to evolve because of the partnerships, energy, and investment happening throughout the district every single day,” he said. “This accreditation reflects the work being done by City staff, business owners, volunteers, community partners, and residents who continue helping move Downtown forward.”
