Bloomington’s Janet’s Cakes seeks new owner after 38 years

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. (WMBD) — A long-time Bloomington staple is looking for new ownership to carry on the legacy.

Janet’s Cakes and Catering announced on Facebook that they’re looking for a new owner to purchase the business.

Janets has been open for 38 years, opened in 1989. It has only had two owners. Janet Kletz, the founder of the business, and her daughter, Cindy, who took over when Janet passed in 2011.

Janet’s Facebook post says that normal operation will continue while the search happens. Anyone with serious inquiries can reach out to the business.
