HOPEDALE, Ill. (WMBD) — One person was injured after a semi was struck by lightning and overturned.
Troopers with the Illinois State Police were called at 8:52 a.m. to Interstate 155 near mile marker 19, which is near Hopedale, on a report of an overturned semi, an ISP spokesperson said.
They said the semi had been struck by lightning, and one person was injured. It was not immediately clear what the extent of the injuries was.
The incident is still under investigation.
