NORMAL, Ill. (WMBD) — The McLean County Coroner Kathleen Yoder has identified the man who died in a motorcycle crash on Interstate 55 near Normal on Saturday.
Caden N. Lovins, 20 of Bloomington, died from multiple blunt force injuries due to being struck by a motorcycle, Yoder said.
Lovins was riding with a group when it is believed he experienced a mechanical malfunction on his motorcycle. After he had laid the bike down, he was struck by another motorcycle that did not have time to correct its course.
According to information released by the Illinois State Police, troopers responded to the scene just before 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Yoder said Lovins was pronounced dead at the scene at 7:57 p.m. Two more were sent to the hospital with injuries.
This incident remains under investigation by the coroner’s office and the Illinois State Police.
