NORMAL, Ill. (WMBD) — The employee strike at Illinois State University will continue.
The latest mediation session took place on Wednesday morning, which included school officials and AFSCME Local 1110, the union that represents around 300 ISU employees.
Union representative Renee Nestler said the university did not move on the contract. Employees will continue to strike until further notice.
WMBD reached out to ISU spokesperson Chris Coplan, but has not received a response at this time.
Buildings, grounds and dining services employees have been negotiating with the university for more than a year and last month, the rank and file authorized a strike vote.
The union is seeking higher pay and a fair contract. University officials say their final offer included multiple wage increases.
