NORMAL – A 34-year-old Springfield man was identified as the person who was found dead amid recycling materials at a Normal facility last week.
Dion M. Macklin was found in the materials that were being processed at Midwest Fiber, Inc. plant in Normal, said McLean County Coroner Kathy Yoder.
The coroner said the cause of death is still under investigation, and results are not back yet from toxicology testing.
This incident remains under investigation by the McLean County Coroner’s Office and the Normal Police Department, she said.
According to Brad Park, a department spokesman, Normal police were called to Midwest Fiber, Inc., located 422 White Oak Road, on Wednesday after employees there had found the man in the material that was brought to the facility.
Midwest Fiber is a single-stream recycling center, meaning that materials are brought there and then sorted.
