BLOOMINGTON – The Illinois Prairie Community Foundation on Tuesday announced that it has awarded $206,490 grants to local nonprofits.

According to an Illinois Prairie Community Foundation news release, 86 nonprofits from McLean, DeWitt, Livingston and Logan Counties will receive the grants.

The grants were awarded in three categories, with 48 nonprofits receiving general grants, 32 nonprofits receiving arts and culture grants and six receiving Sol Shulman Jewish Life and Education grants.

Some of the local grants include $2,000 for Best Buddies in Central Illinois, $4,000 for the Boys & Girls Club of Bloomington-Normal and $2,500 for Easterseals of Central Illinois.
