BLOOMINGTON – Bloomington was recognized again for their forestry by the Arbor Day Foundation on Monday.

A Bloomington Parks and Recreation news release states that community was honored by the non-profit for a forestry department, a tree care ordinance, a community forestry plan with a $2 per capita budget allocation, and of course, observing Arbor Day.

Bloomington’s Beautification Committee picked Corpus Christi Catholic School as the location for Arbor Day festivities, including the annual planting of the Arbor Day Tree.

Corpus Christi 3rd Graders will be part of the planting event alongside the members of the Bloomington City Council, representatives from the Bloomington Parks and Recreation Department, and members of the Beautification Committee.

The Arbor Day observance will be April 26 at 10:30 a.m.
